Learning is at the heart of what we do. From a school trip to a specialist tour to a children’s weekend workshop, our unparalleled collections provide inspiration for children and students alike.
Visitors of all ages are invited to get up close and personal with real, iconic inventions and hear first-hand from creators and innovators, the human stories and moments of genius which inspired them to brilliance.
Inspired will offer a wide range of creative programmes, encouraging visitors to explore their own ingenuity and release their inner genius. From providing hands-on children’s workshops and activities, to debating complex scientific issues and building and testing new technologies, Inspired will enable generations of students to engage with the past, the present and the future of human ingenuity.
Younger learners will take part in exciting new experiences, bringing learning to life on a scale that cannot be replicated in the classroom. Our learning programmes combine social history with basic science concepts and interactive learning, all of which are brought to life by hands-on experience of our heritage collections.
Inspired aims to stimulate a lifelong interest in science and society, inspiring current and future generations of scientists to overcome the challenges which face them.
This museum will be a major national venue for schools and colleges across the UK, allowing young people of every age and interest to engage with the objects and inventions which have changed our world.
